One of the main things that I get out of "on earth as it is in heaven" is that Jesus wants us to do good in this life, not only for eternity!

This is an earth-shattering thought for those of us who have dedicated our lives to World Missions. It causes a serious second look at the question of what is important to God?

Beautiful Music?
Good Food?
Human Happiness?
Healthy Prosperity?
Curing of Diseases?
Living Longer?
Mercy for those in need?
Everyone belongs to someone? No one is alone?
Satisfaction in employment?

Wow. The list goes on.

Someone once told me that they ran a dairy to make money to give to missions. I am glad they are giving to missions, but I eventually realized that God cares about Good Quality Milk! People need safe food and nutrition resources! It's part of being human, and thus is important to God.

So... As Christians, and as "missionaries" we get to be a part of getting people into heaven, but we also get to be a part of improving the painful life we live on this earth before we get here.

And when Jesus returns, the work will be finalized and the Great Voice will say (from Revelation) "The Kingdoms of this World, are become the Kingdoms of our God!"

I look forward to doing my part in getting there!

Great thoughts Dan!

:-)

I am convinced that "religion" was invented in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve bought Satan's lie that they could be "like God, knowing good and evil." I think you could argue that "religiousickiness" is the cause of more evil than anything else!

Say no to "no", that's my view. :-) Let it all be "Yes" and "Amen!" (Alright, all you emerging types don't have to say "amen", it is a bit religious sounding. :-) )

I have spent that past 6 years working on undoing all of the religious, non-grace oriented garbage that I believed. Could Jesus actually be in to me being healthy, free, and full of joy?

Wow. God is good.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Dan!

:-)

Hey Jon. Yeah I would have guessed that on first look your possibly would not agree with what he says. I also suspect from my little knowledge of you that if you read the book you would agree with quite a lot of it. Would love to talk to you about it further but not through this medium I really am getting heaps out of it.

Peace.

Wow. I just went to check out "God's Politics." I am interested to hear your thoughts on the book. I visited Jim Wallis's blog and the first post I stumbled on was so far off I was almost shocked (and I had to leave some comments).

I won't judge him by that one post! (In fact, I won't judge him at all if I can help it!) :-)

Maybe I'll have to read that book myself one day.

God Bless!
